Ahh spring!! I hope wherever you live you are able to smell the grass, see the brilliant green tops of spring flowers making their way up into the world! Alas, snow here in the Rockies! Despite Mother Nature being uncooperative with my desires of a warm spring day, I still feel that urge to ‘spring clean’. Spring cleaning is a great time to clean out your medicine chest and make sure to contact your local pharmacy to find out where to dispose of expired medications.
One of the best changes I made after becoming a mommy was to switch to all natural cleaning products! Makes sense right? Well, it took me years of cleaning, getting headaches, feeling horrible while and after I cleaned to get the message! One of the main reasons I did not make the switch earlier was because I thought I had to buy all my cleaning products and, let’s face it, they are not cheap! After searching online I finally found a website that has amazing recipes for cleaning products! One of the most useful products to keep on hand is baking soda! I buy huge bags from Costco and mix a little lavender, lemon, tea tree or whatever essential oil I like at the time into a bowl of it. You can use this to scour counters, bathtubs, sprinkle it on carpets to freshen, and best of all a dab in Lily’s diaper genie! Another very useful item it keep on hand is white vinegar. Add 1/4 cup vinegar to a gallon of hot water, essential oil and mop your hardwood floors, tiled floors, or other hard surfaces.
